If you think not every car has been restomodded think again.

Restomods are the best!
Also do carburetors really give better throttle response? Maybe better than a fly by wire in an econobox, but better than a mechanical throttle?

Inevitable. It’s basically a 1970 Hornet with trans tunnel mods.
The sad thing is that there is a well engineered kit to swap an AMC V8 of your choice into an Eagle and keep AWD/4wd.
$10 says the front hubs are gutted CV joints.

Tell me more of this kit please... I’ve got an Eagle I’m working on, the more info the better.

Mopar makes a MPFI conversion kit, around $2000 though.

Yikes! I guess if I ever build a restomod I’ll go carbureted or use a stock ECU.

Search for Hypereagle’s kit on amceaglesden.com. He pioneered the swap when it was still the Eagles Nest.

I saw the posting for this car while it was still available for purchase. Was part of my motivation for wanting an Eagle Wagon. I really liked the look. But killing the 4WD was a horrible move. This car was worked on for a TV show ( Lost in Transmission ) and the owner specifically wanted it to remain 4WD. The more times I look at it the less I like what they’ve done. About the only thing I still really like is that they two-toned the interior, which was likely to replace some crappy seats and carpeting in a hurry. And the sub box is hilarious given how much room is in the spare-tire area, you could jam 2-4 14"’s in there and still have room for an amp.
I dunno. Maybe it’s just that know that I own one how they went about this just bothers me. I mean it dragging a Porsche is awesome, but they kinda killed the spirit of what the car was made to do. Like neutering a Wrangler, or a 2WD WRX...

Yeah, losing the 2WD is a huge problem, and everything about the audio is tragic and half-assed. Seriously, I hate it when people just cut holes through the upholstery and tack in some godawful modern speakers and grilles. And that sub box is the most hilariously phoned-in thing ever.

All that money, and the rear hatch is held up by a freaking mop handle.

I’d feel inclined to love it if it were $3,500-$4,500... Ditching the 4wd doesn’t bother me, it’s the use of crap-ass Foxbody front suspension, the clashing exterior/interior colors, the half-assed audio, and the matte paint (I hate matte paint).
But...
The thing that REALLY makes me cringe in horror?
(EDIT: Insert Kinja’d picture of broomstick-supported hatch here)
Seriously? You want twenty freaking thousand dollars and you can’t be bothered to spend $15 on Rockauto for some new hatch struts?!
But for $4,000? I’d daily the hell out of it.

If you’re really crafty you can assemble the parts needed out of various Jeep wreckers. I’m just not that kinda smart.
